All these issues existed before gangster rap. Gangster rap is a reflection of the culture and lifestyle, and people who gang bang are pretty aware of its existence. People who don’t gang bang are not listening to gangster rap and thinking, “golly gee! I sure would love to trap and do drive-by shootings”.

You seem clearly out of touch with reality because this is some real boomer shit my parents would say.

to some extent ,yes. then it was glorified and bundled into neat little packages for comsumption by the masses. when it was fringe behavior it wasn't acceptable.

People who don't...

maybe not. listening to music has effects. not always noticable. lets say one grows up in a place with little opputunity. ones not well off financially not paying for college. ones not good at sports no scholarship. ones led to believe the only way out is through college. one see the guys on the corner, they obviously sell drugs. they have money. combined with the radio/music television programming, single parent household, the system is racist. where is one going to end up? they going to take the easy road or the hard road?
no, no, i'm the one out of touch with reality.
