Wish I had a dollar for every time someone told me that a certain election was the most important of my lifetime. That I need to compromise my principles just this one time, so that the worse guy doesn't win and ruin everything. I'll admit I fell for it the first time, but since then I've seen plenty of R's and D's take office and the real policies stay the same.

Remember what I typed here when elections no longer matter. Seems you are just pointing out the problem with people crying wolf. The wolf is actually here.

The two party system is the illusion that we have any agency in the political process. The wolf may be here, but it's not doing our ordained "civic duty" and voting team red or blue at the ballot box that's gonna stop him. All these points about senate majorities, SCOTUS, electors and whatnot are moot if both parties pursue the same hawkish foreign policy, massive public debt, unrestrained money printing, and a constant assault on the constitution and our personal liberties.
