Based upon the link and the information therein, it appears that the headline is factually correct, unfortunately. But he's just a candidate, and candidates say all kinds of crazy stuff, so it's not that notable imo. If he gets elected, then I'll care. But it is kind of an indicator of the culture that he can joke about white males dying being a good thing. If he said this about women, or any other race, I think he would've been met with gasps instead of laughter. But also we don't exactly know the context of this statement either, although I'm not sure what verbal context would make this acceptable for a political candidate to say.
