Propagating aloe using honey instead of root-tone. Any ideas on what soil moisture should be? by tomatosplat in plants

Generally, the plant needs to be watered when the soil dries out completely but before shriveling or wilt of the plant occurs. Feeling the soil in the pot provides the best guide for watering times. If the soil feels moist, the plant doesn't need water. Water dry pots until the excess moisture begins to drip from the bottom of the pot, and empty any collected water from the drainage tray promptly. Allow the soil to dry out again before the next watering.

Same here for me in CO. It's just been so damn hot lately with such little rain. Has hailed maybe twice so far this season down in the plains.

Good luck! There has been a lot of heat here as well as not much rain so it's been a tough summer to grow things, for me at least

I've got broad beans growing but that haven't produced any beans yet. I should look into the Chinese long beans.

The snow peas are going off. Only thing other than lettuce that's doing really well, it has been unseasonably warm this winter and none of my winter crops are doing that great.

Nice. I've always had trouble with peas. Beans grow great though... there's these chinese long beans that grow to literally 32" long beans and they taste just like greenbeans. I had more of those than I knew what to do with. They grow like a weed. They're amazing. If I was trying to maximize for food production here in east Texas I'd probably go with chinese long beans, cucumbers, eggplant, and asparagus.

I was able to post something out of my garden. It's been pouring down for the last few days so this is an old pic from last week. Not going outside in that weather!

Nice. I found out snake plants are close cousins of "Lucky Bamboo" (which is actually a water lilly) so you can plant the two together and it looks nice and works well because they have similar light and water requirements
