He tweeted this tweet calling it out, at least. He's not perfect, but his statement is accurate.

Man, one year later and this is even more true now.
The hate for Assange this week is unreal; and it pisses me off!
I just see a bunch of people who would rather be lied to and live in the dark.

I agree. The overall reaction was very disappointing in the MSM
