Anecdotally: No, praying mantis can’t really exist in cities. They need like woods to support their lifestyle.

It’s like firefly’s.

I saw my very first fireflies earlier this year. We don't get them here.

    A bit of trivia about praying mantises is that after the male has sex with the female she will turn around and bite his head off.

    Those guys have big balls. I saw some Joe Rogan clip. Where one of those stood on a scorpion eating some little bug. Then he pulled it out and whipped it around trying to merc the scorpion. However the scorpion went ham and killed it.
