/u/SierraKiloBravo,

I've heard from a couple sources that the NetFlix 4-part "Jeffrey Epstein Filthy Rich" documentary wasn't as good as the 3-part Discovery Channel's "Who Killed Jeffrey Epstein" but it was released earlier and with greater fanfare perhaps to overshadow the deeper insights in the latter. I've not seen either yet, but if you (or anyone else reading this) view the second one as well I'd be curious to hear comparisons.

I recently came across a few recommendations that sounded worthy of following up on. You may have viewed or heard of them and I value your quick takes. I'm downloading them now and may get around to seeing them, as well as an excellent list of your recommendations.

I may be mistaken but I believe the other longer video ("Law for the People") I linked to in these comments included recommendations of these two other documentaries.

On a completely different tangent I watched a Corridor Crew "Stuntment React" video where these martial arts movies came up that I'd never heard of (not that I'm deep into that genre):

Yep, I've seen the Netflix Epstein doco, but had not heard of the Discovery Channel one - another one for my watchlist!

I currently have Trial By Media in my queue so will be getting to that at some stage in the coming weeks.

You mention The Protector - dude, Tony Jaa is incredible. Most of his stuff is eye popping. His Ong Bak movies have the most insane stunts.

I've had the Ong Bak and some other's like it in my que for years. I'm just not into it like I used to be, though once in, I'm all in. I saw one of the Raid movies and kept meaning to see the other next first - but I didn't get around to it - for years.

I haven't watched non-Tube videos for ages. You tipped me to Rotten and I finished up to S01E04 and haven't gotten back to my playlist - except for A Little Chaos (2014), which was quaint and good but not remotely as gripping as it could have been for a beautiful period piece. I've been distracted with real world things, throwing a party, and getting more active with my local Green Party (who I'm trying to bring to SaidIt).

Lemme know a couple days before you do Trial By Media and then we can co-watch in Canada / New Zealand and then compare notes - if you're interested.

I love this idea! Will do - I'm close to finishing the docu-series Broken on Netflix, so I might have to load up Trial by Media next. I will let you know!

Hadn't heard of it before but Broken looks like an okay series. Only 6.8/10 with 679 votes on IMDb - usually with a low number of votes the votes are higher due to being friends and family of the production before the average drops dramatically - but that's my generalization for movies, not documentaries. I also find that TV shows usually get higher averages than movies - likely due to the fact that people who like TV shows keep watching them, unlike movies which are more hit or miss with viewers. I look forward to your Broken review, but it looks like one for lower on the list, if ever. I'm aware of those depressing issues, but not in detail - and I'm not sure how much I'd gain from learning more about them. I have a hard enough time keeping up with the broad strokes - and trying to make my own little difference too, though I need some serious focus.

As for Trial By Media, we can start sooner or later, at your leisure. I have no critical schedule. I may or may not be compelled to binge part or all of it, so I may either leap ahead or fall behind - unless we come up with a plan, such as one per night over however long. However, that seems like unnecessary OCD overkill. If this goes well it might be apt for something grander, though I have nothing in mind.

Yes, IMO Rotten is way better than Broken. I guess that's a preview of my inevitable review haha.

Same producers according to the trailer. I wonder if they were cast-off episodes not worthy of being in the series, yet not a write-off with some different adjustments, editing, music, filler, rebranding, intro, etc.

Oh really? I did not realise that - funny though because after a couple of episodes I thought it kinda coulda slotted in amongst the Rotten episodes quite nicely.
