My city has a stupid and dangerous traffic structure called a "throughabout", which is like a roundabout except with the crucial difference that it has a pair of roads (one going in each direction - you always have to think about which road is going in which direction) that go straight through it. This is what it looks like:

The roads going through the middle have the right of way. By looking at this picture, it is easy to see how the whole thing is a setup to get T-boned at high speeds.
I made a post on my city's subreddit complaining about how stupid, dangerous, and confusing this is, and criticizing the morons who designed it and the city officials who approved it. The most heavily upvoted replies to my post were comments saying that they love it and everyone they know loves it and that it's safe, and that the fact that I find it confusing means that I'm stupid.
After reading their comments, my opinion on throughabouts changed. I am actually a big supporter of throughabouts now. Anything that makes the road more dangerous for these stupid idolators can only be a good thing.
