Activist Hazel Williams, who has been an ardent critic of the planters, argued the program may legalize anti-homeless architecture.

Anyone care to bet that Hazel doesn't live anywhere that her life can be troubled by those homeless?

I'm certainly not a fan of regulations, but I can't say it seems too weird for a city to want a say in how much you can obstruct the sidewalk. I don't really see why there should be a permit rather than just some guidelines to follow, though. That part probably is for "woke" reasons.
