If a man builds his house on the sand, when the storms come it will fall. But if a man builds his house on the rock, the winds will blow, the waves will roar, but the house will continue to stand, because it was built on the rock.

The rock is Jesus. Mankind has constructed his buildings without him in violation of God's building codes.
