Who are the sexual deviants you referring to when you said "What sexual deviants do is disgusting"?

I have assumed from the context you meant gay men.

Christendom seems to define sexual immorality in accordance with Plato. Which is anything "non-procreative".

Sure. But in-the-clouds is trying to make the case that he doesn't hate anyone.

So I'm interested in why she would refer to someone as "sexual deviant" rather than a less hateful and more precise equivalent term. "Gay" or whoever he is referring to.

It's anyone who deviates from that ideal. It isn't a hateful term.

You're correct about the etymology, but you're mistaken about the usage of "sexual deviant" in English.

The reason "sexual deviant" hasn't been used to describe homosexuals professionally in 50 years, is because that term engenders shame.

It is not culturally neutral like the verb "to deviate" is. It implies culturally unacceptable.

And u/In-the-clouds considers it sinful. Right or not, that's not the same as "hating" people.

"Sexual Deviant" isn't loving. Nor even neutral.
