Before I read the article: I always saw it as trying to manipulate results in their favour by increasing turn-out which may have been lower in people who would vote for politicians they support.

Edit 1: It seems this is talking about the front page of Google, while I was thinking about reminders on YouTube and push notifications from Google Apps on Android. I usually use DuckDuckGo and when I do use another search engine, usually use !bangs, so I rarely see the Google front page.

Edit 3: Oh wait, there's more! Targeted messaging only occurred to me when I read the headline rather than before.

Edit 4: It says search suggestions are biased towards democrats, but what about the removal of controversial suggestions about Trump? Not to say the others aren't, though.
