Those zoomers were in over their heads since day 1. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

What did you saw wrong with the site overall? Does this mean Saidit is again the biggest reddit (clone) alternative?

They made bad business/political decisions and bad tech decisions. The crux of the issue was advertising themselves as a free speech site but then ungracefully walking it back later. Voat.co closing was the nail in the coffin, if voat would have stayed open, maybe ruqqus would still be around.

Nah, saidit is pretty small compared to the communities.win sites. They are the biggest reddit alternative by far.

Communities.win is basically became the alternative after Ruqqus pivoted to censorship. I'm still on Poal and obviously here sometimes. But I think Communities.win will grow after every major Reddit ban.

The Internet is still young. I still have a lot of crazy ideas I haven't tried yet to help the site.

Even though Saidit is small, Saidit censors too.

Too much liberalism can be just as toxic as too much authoritarianism. IMO, Saidit does has the flaw of being too liberal and It's hardly the ideal place for quality information warfare because everything gets reduced to a popularity contest. It's very prone to be subverted.

I think people should create their own subs and don't shy away from increasing the authoritarianism while under Saidit rules even if they get rather isolated because of it while trying to allow as much opposition as possible. This opens up for the chance of different ideological guilds to show up and helps add a lot of variety to the site and fun competition.

One of the issues is that "free speech" sites are easy to manipulate by a broad range of people, from Mosssad shills to neonazis, to the mentally challenged, to 12-year-old 4channers. Free speech is of course always limited in some manner on these alt sites, and as you indicate, Ruqqus couldn't manage it.
