Well, in truth no (well very few) American cities are controlled by Republicans. The largest US city governed by the GOP is Indianapolis, thanks to a combined city/county setup.

Ever since Nixon’s Southern Strategy, the Republicans have turned their backs on cities and Black voters.

If you want to complain about cities, cool. Just do not throw out the red herring of Democratic-controlled cities. Basically they all are. The Republicans gave up on cities more than a generation ago.

Well, in truth...

Rating: False.

About a quarter of the US' largest 50 cities elected Republican mayors.

San Diego.

Indianapolis re-elected their Democratic mayor in November. (Oh, and that city created Unigov a half-century ago).

The state created unigov, if memory serves.

I am always willing to be corrected. Please provide us with a list of the cities with Republican mayors & councils. (Even better, put it up on s/list where I am trying to drive up traffic.)
