Damn, that's a cold slap of reality right there. It's hard to think of Scott as anything but the youthfully forthright, growlie voice that set the AC/DC sound for literally decades. Brian Johnson did a fine job of taking over as front man but the band never again had the spunk and promise that it did with Scott. And besides who knows if the band would have even endured?

Man, thank you for this. I’m right now listening to early Bon, Dirty Deeds stuff. Man, what a trip. No one could have carried on the legacy of Bon and the band the way Brian has done, yet no one can ever take Bon's place. It’s quite a thing to behold in Rock history. Never has a thing like this occurred to this degree. Ever. Message me anytime about anything AC/DC. My favorite.

Alice in Chains had more number 1 hits with William Duvall than Layne Staley.

Bon gave Brian praise for his vocals with his old band Geordie. Maybe that is why the rest of ACDC felt it was right that he replaced Bon.
