Immediately after 9/11 George Bush said, "They hate us for our freedoms," and the media aggressively tried to sell this to us via fear porn. Despite all the examples of the oppressive Taliban, hajibs, burkas, public executions, and all the bad things of the Muslim/Islamic Middle East "terrorists", it was obvious that it was a completely stupid excuse from day one. I wanted real answers not some simplistic tribalist guess work to explain the 9/11 attack motivations. I didn't really get many good answers until 2004 or 2005 with Michael Ruppert's excellent contextual explanation that started my journey into truth-seeking.
