No it was the default meme that came up, as I usually do now. They rotate through the "popular" ones.

Sad that everything has double meanings now. I used to watch movies with a critical eye towards animation and special effects, and often enough it would enhance it. Now I find it all abysmal for bad writing and/or propaganda.

The first one that pissed me off was the Gays stealing the rainbow. I used to love the spectrum and Mork from Ork.

I later learned why my Mom threw out her collection of 70's mushroom themed things too.

Nothing is sacred, or ever was.

Also, back to that left-leaning thing... I forgot to mention the most important reason I bother: Obviously the right is being censored off Reddit to find sanctuary here, but we need to maintain the balance too. That's largely why I bother even posting so much left content, even if it won't get votes. I've already seen it or know about it, but there might also be folks not exposed to those alt sources.

Actually, your buddy rog__ made me do it.... ;-)

I think the meme is funny, and I'm just stirring up shit.

He's a curmudgeon.

I know it.

I was just musing aloud, so to speak, silently stroking my keyboard in the dark.

Maybe it was repurposed by the government to represent that? I know the CIA (or FBI) created one of the first viral memes, the Philosoraptor. That had no special intent, they were throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what stuck and would go viral - this was one of their memes that stuck. I wish I had bookmarked the article that had the declassified CIA documents on memes. If you looked it up, I'm sure you can find it.

This maymay template (Is that a pigeon?) is from an anime from 1991 though: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/is-this-a-pigeon

""Is this a pigeon?" is a memorable quote said by the protagonist character from the 1990s Japanese anime TV series The Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbird in a scene wherein the humanoid character erroneously identifies a butterfly as a pigeon. On Tumblr, the quote, along with a reaction image of the scene featuring the English-translated subtitle, is widely used to express utter confusion."
