This post is consistent with a research-derived characterization of two distinct groups of transwomen: homosexual transsexuals (HSTS), and autogynephiles (AGP). In fact, this comment even correctly distinguishes the age differences found between these two groups:

While different sexual orientations seem to be similarly prevalent among transgender people at large, with regards to age since realizing that they're transgender, trans people who realize at a younger age tend more often to straight, while people who realize at an older age tend more often to be gay. (I should mention that this study is not great given that it only checks for monosexuals... and has awful terminology.)

Correspondingly: HSTS-group transwomen tend to experience gender dysphoria from much younger ages and to transition at younger ages, and are androphilic ("straight" by r/MtF's definition of sexual orientation, homosexual by science's and the commonly-accepted meaning of the word), whereas opposite-sex-attracted AGP transwomen ("gay" according to r/MtF) transition at later ages.

Many transgender-rights activists still deny the existence of autogynephilia.

I’m a young MtF person and can confirm that I prefer girls.

Same, I realized in kindergarten before I was even attracted to anyone.

I was the same age when I realized all the sadomasochistic scenes in Disney's Aladdin were especially appealing to me--but, of course, I didn't understand why at the time.

Does not work that way. Not for fetishists, not for regular sex-oriented people.

I've heard of people who had this experience, but it is not the case for many. I think many adults encourage this narrative because they feel uncomfortable imagining children as sexual beings.
