I can actually explain the link a bit. A lot of the fetishes you see loudly in the egg T groups are popular on the hentai fetish boards (or were maybe 10-15 years ago) on 4chan and similar boards. Reddit is essentially very similar in nature to 4chan but substantially less porn. They all would gather and encourage each other in their fetishes on the fetish boards. I was a teenager at the time and was horrified that when I got away from 4chan it was still around on tumblr, reddit, twitter, every other smaller social media site when possible, support groups online, and in real life.

The theory about rapid onset GD shouldn’t be thought of about only teenage and college age girls, but like any social contagion phenomena like men in fetish circles though obviously the presentation is different and the AGP connection still exists. Or otherwise at risk, mental illness, developmental conditions, etc.
