Unfortunately, we all are extremely dependent on the dollar. If the dollar goes to hell, life is going to suck.

While true, that would just change our masters from the Chinese to the Europeans. Is that really a bad thing a generation on?

Europeans are nobody's master. They aren't even their own master. They are like pathetic children who can't make decisions for themselves and rage against their parent (USA) when it's bedtime. We gave them everything, the longest peace in European history, and all they have for us is spite and anger.

Nah, we'll be fine. We're self sufficient in food and energy. It's the rest of the world who will be affected. And given how much they hate us and tell us all the time, I think it will be an instructive and informative lesson for them.
