Iceland 2009: They surrounded the capital building, clogged the streets, banged on pans for 4 months so no business could be done, which got them a new constitution. Find a non-violent way to hurt them in the pocketbook, suddenly they start paying attention.

While Iceland was a success, let me tell you what happened in Greece when people tried to do the same thing.

The police used all reserves of tear gas and beat the shit out of the millions of protesters. It has been said (without any official denying this as far as I know) that the SEEBRIG multinational brigade took part in the suppression.

What's more interesting is that the communist party of Greece employed bolsheviks to stand guard outside the parliament. Here is a video

And here is a photo of bolsheviks beating protesters. The one in the circle, also here, claimed two years later that "fascists" gave him a beating and that the "fascist parties" that emerged after should be banned.

In the years that followed, the situation became worse and worse and nothing changed for the better. And the same thing was repeated again and again everytime millions of people tried to show they object the governmental policy.
