I think this is the point of Assange. They're making an example of him, to deter people who wish to do the same thing. It's theater to show us how beaten and conquered we are. If you convince someone they're powerless, then you don't even have to fight them to rule over them. In addition to be a reflection of the malfunctioning justice system, it's also programming, to make us feel not-free, in our own minds.

good point, it was a great plan really, if you think about how he as used to draw out other whistleblowers and now to scare them into keeping quiet.

Nobody cares. The public don't even know who he is.

The sheep are placated with fast food and cheap soda as search algorithms keep them safely tucked away in their personalized bubble.

Until food, water, or (god forbid) electricity take a hit things will keep on running smoothly into the ground.

People care. Most people in the US know who Assange is.

I understand your frustration, because there is a lot of complacency where there should be action, but let's not bend the truth to be dramatic, that won't get us anywhere either.

I don't think it's dramatic to believe the deep state is capable of shutting off our internet, utilities, access to money. They've done comparable things in different formats to their perceived "enemies", and now the definition of "state enemy" or "domestic terrorist" or whatever label is being given is even broader. Due to some of your public research topics, Magnora, you may well be on some sort of low-level watchlist yourself.

Also, that journalists don't care is one of the most chilling and distressing aspects of this. That they will happily report the crappy canned propaganda, and kill the real stories, is even more horrifying. I remember when the OJ trial was the ONLY thing on tv all day, plastered on the front page every day, for months on end. This is such a more important topic and precedent, and yet there is mostly nothing but mass MSM collusion to keep it under the radar and controlled optics.

I think AnarchySpeach is making some solid points, except imho it is not the flock's ignorance that is as loathsome here as the press and politicos using this as the worst kind of political football.

I don't disagree with anything you said. However in regards to "bending the truth to be dramatic" I was speaking of his first two sentences, which are simply untrue as I pointed out. But I agree with everything you said, and everything he said after those two sentences.

Ah yes, I see what you mean.

I think most people would gladly trade their freedom for 15 minutes of fame. They kind of already have for a localized version of fame through social media.

What Is Happening to Assange Will Happen to the Rest of Us

We'll get toxoplasmosis, too?!
