So this trans writer just got attacked by the trans community because they thought her trans-friendly story was transphobic. by Chipit in NotTheOnion

It's so sad that people seem to be unable to laugh at them/ourselves any more. I'm not a transphobe and yet I still find the original meme (as read by Tyrone, of course) to be one of the most hilarious things ever https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPMDCJrRpT8

That a trans person wrote the article makes the backlash even more confounding. Considering that the trans movement wants to be free to fully express themselves, to not be closeted or silenced any more, it does seem strange to then wish to silence others, including those within their own community. Strange times, gender-neutral-salutation, strange times.

I can't agree with you here. I think it is not so much an "ism" as people fighting for what is right for people. Maybe where you live pollution is better, but in a lot of places (including Paris) it is worse. It also depends on how you define pollution: do you mean just air pollution/smog? There are cities where the air quality is actively dangerous. But if you include the industrial/chemical and other contaminations of our water, food supply, soil, it has indeed gotten much worse.

In the US, look for instance at the exponential increase in pounds per annum of glyphosate alone, not to mention 2,4-D and all kinds of other "approved" chemicals that are at the root of so much debilitating human disease.

They are actively protesting against Macron-style globalism, imo, and the elitist erosion of everything that keeps the rest of us healthy, well, and sane.

Here is a translation of one of the facebook calls to gather:

✊🏼 Call of January 18, 2020 ✊🏼 💥 Let's not lose anymore! 💥

The results are simple: we are regressing at all levels. Except in matters of police surveillance and repression. But otherwise: nature and species are dying, pollution is increasing, life expectancy has started to stagnate, public services are on their knees and private workers are on the knees with increasingly precarious and poorly paid jobs. .

The state in all of this is just an orchestra of above-ground technicians serving money. And at this level of bureaucracy, it can never be otherwise.

It is time to no longer lose, no longer accept the social regressions that go with their share of authoritarian and discriminating policies. It's time to rise up. One and all! French citizens or not, everyone is concerned, because this enemy who makes war on us has no borders.

January 18 is a Saturday. This date goes hand in hand with Thursday, January 9. With the difference that all the most job-insecure who will not have been able to strike will be able to come to demonstrate. This is an opportunity to be massive in the street to express our rejection of the pension reform and the world of Macron.

The pension reform should be presented to the Council of Ministers on January 24. Let us make sure that it never comes to be and that like its scribes, it goes to the dustbin of History.

Spread the word. The 18th, the whole of France in Paris!

Yes, he did. The whole "Moral Majority" thing was one lane that he really widened (looking at you, Doug Coe) that set a terrible and worsening precedent as you say for decades to come. He also cut so many services that large cities were suddenly flooded with mentally ill people who really needed help, who ended up homeless in the streets en masse.

And of course the major expansion of the Crime Control Act, which was basically a way to up the budget on the so-called "war on drugs", magically simultaneous to the US-funded Contra cocaine smuggling operations.

Thank you for your kind words :)

What is new, or fresh, is new sometimes only in the framework of when it strikes minds that have heretofore been blinded and intoxicated by indoctrination. The actual truth of Reality has been being transmitting itself all along, but only a very few have been listening. The more we "normalize" the knowledge of our inherent power and basic goodness, the less "new" (and that often translates to "scary, for some") and the more natural it will become.

I meant an important shift for the collective conditioned human mind.

I think it's key for the collective mind to shift PoV from disempowered subjects to the empowered collaborative Being that it already is. We have been hornswoggled into believing that we must please some sort of perceived overlord, and the more we have appeased it, the more it has lorded-over. The more we then fight it, the more it gains legitimacy and saps our energy, etc.

To see ourselves as, say, the collective amniotic fluid from which unlimited creativity can and does grow, is a far cry from the sorry state the human mind has been conditioned to think in. (subjects and objects in a world, rather than one limitless field of energetic activity.)

I'm cutting lots of corners here but that's sort of what I meant. A deep bow to you for seeing through the many-layered veil of delusion, and glimpsing the true power that is our inborn nature.

Well by poking the bear like this, you're kind of putting yourself in the crosshairs, no? If you don't like their content/style, there is a handy "mute sub" button, which hides it from your "all" or "new".

Other things you can do is refrain from engaging with their comments on other subs, report them if they really don't adhere to the PoD, or simply use your innate power to not need others to be a certain way and move along, modeling respectful relating in your own way.

Chronic liars lie first to themselves, to protect their ego construct. (Which is fragile, despite the appearance of massive arrogance and pomp.) So any time a shred of truth disrupts their storyline, they first re-weave the foundational fabric of their lie to themselves, within the context of their own weird internal lie. When it sounds good, and credible, and supportive of their bloated sense of self, they start repeating that lie to others, to substantiate it. It's like PR for their ego, and the more people that believe it, the more they believe it. In this way they start to forget things, like, say, oh yeah they're the effing president of the US and most everything they say and do is on public record.

But the years of getting away with re-writing their personal history makes them delusional in the way I think Nema might be trying to point to here--in that they have some unconscious magical thinking wherein if they repeat the lie enough, everyone will believe it, and it will become the new truth, and they will maintain their glory.

Trump is just a very unsophisticated example of this specific narcissistic trait. Most of the people in high places are getting away with this exact process on a much more successful and less transparent level. It's my hope that we're in a phase of our collective evolution where they are all being exposed, and the whole rotten fabric will disintegrate before our very eyes, and we can make a nice new cloth that is not itchy, moth-eaten, and malodorous.

I disagree that they have the "right". A gift is not supposed to be a trojan horse, and it's right out of the abuser's handbook to make you believe that if you accept a gift, or a service, you also accept all sorts of unacceptable things--even secret, nasty, unwanted things without your consent.

Just because the gov't has been doing the sorts of things you mentioned, does not make it correct, or their right.

I think we should ALL expect a reasonable degree of privacy, no matter if we are wealthy enough to buy it, or are in a spot where we need to accept assistance. It's a sad day when we equate need with giving up our fundamental dignity and civil/human rights.
