I didn't advocate violence, dimwit.

In the course of speaking a language, there are what's known as literary tools. Making an obvious non-serious, figurative remark in a humorous vein is one such common tool. Most people can discern the difference between that and a person trying to incite violence on your little forum. Clearly, you lack that judgment.

It's not the first time I've noticed your failings here. You'd fit right in at Reddit. ; )

FBI notes detail effort to catch Flynn in lie to 'get him fired' as Trump adviser. 'What is our goal? Truth/Admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?' by Chipit in corruption

Flynn is certainly not someone you want in government. He concealed dealing with and receiving money from a Russian government propaganda outfit. He attended a celebratory event in Moscow, sitting right next to Vladimir Putin, and was presented repeatedly on Russian TV.

He discussed with the Russian government efforts to overturn sanctions implemented by the US. And he lied about that, too, when questioned by authorities.

He also had an intimate relationship with a Russian women, likely a Russian agent.

He lied to get his government position and he should have been fired, at the least, or prosecuted.

The Epoch Times is a multi-language newspaper founded in 2000 by John Tang and a group of Chinese Americans associated with the Falun Gong spiritual movement.

Though the newspaper is known for general interest topics with a focus on news about China and its human rights issues, it has become known for its support of U.S. President Donald Trump and favorable coverage of far-right politicians in Europe; a 2019 report showed it to be the second-largest funder of pro-Trump Facebook advertising after the Trump campaign.

I detest Reddit. I left there about 5 months ago, and while I procrastinated doing so for a number of months, once I finally did, I haven't looked back. The few times I've returned just reinforced that I made the right decision.

My favorite quote is: "Though I may disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it." So, you see, Reddit is incompatible with my values. Fuck Reddit.

Unfortunately, there is nothing comparable as far as interesting content, user activity, and a pleasant graphical user interface, but the extreme censorship and rudeness (including their unconscionable shadow-banning!) are insults to human dignity. Reddit is beyond redemption.

It's possible someone could (and probably will) create an alternative or successor someday. Reddit certainly has enough problems that millions of users would willingly migrate.

(I have some ideas, myself, but lack the technical knowledge so I'd need partners.)

Correct.

Our "leaders," both political and corporate.

  1. Corporations exist to serve their own interests.
  2. Corporations primary interest is financial profits.

Corporate short-term interests often run counter to our nation's long-term interests.

The American public is not a key consideration — except for their votes at election time. Politicians garner votes by demonizing others and China has become a trendy target.

We cannot truly "decouple" from China at this point. It was American corporations and politicians who introduced our game of Monopoly to them.

Assassins shoot in the head. Rich was shot twice in the back and it appears there was a struggle since bruises were found on his hands, knees and face. He was killed at 4:20 am in a neighborhood plagued with robberies. He'd been in his regular bar until they closed.

Investigations by homicide detectives, the intelligence community and Robert Mueller's team all concluded, with evidence, that Rich was not involved in the leaked DNC emails, so the reason conspiracists give for an assassination are not credible to begin with.

Furthermore, the trail of the initial claim of his 'assassination' began with a single baseless tweet, then got rolling on r/The_Donald — yeah, that's right, on Reddit.

The evidence actually supports Seth Rich providing critical content to WikiLeaks.

That is absolutely false. Russian intelligence and their ally Julian Assange tried to obfuscate the investigation of the hacked emails, but both the intelligence community and the Mueller investigation found them to be the culprits, not Rich, resulting in the 2018 indictment of 12 Russian military intelligence agents.

It's true China operates with self-interest, and it's true they have a history of corruption within their culture, so we should not be naive.

When Mao Tse Tung died, America was able to convince the new generation of leaders to alter their ideological course in ways that benefited their nation by cooperating with the US-led world order. If they would stifle their animosity and open their country up to trade, manufacturing and goods from the West, their future would be bright, they were assured.

Of course, early on in this strategy, it was projected that as China turned from socialism it also would eventually adapt Western-like democratic reforms as well.

It's partly come true, but though that country is less socialistic and ideological, the Communist Party retains a firm hold on governence — ironically, largely due to pacification of the people after lives improved when they turned away from communism.

In this century, China and the rest of the world is now playing by Monopoly game rules. We introduced the game to them and they know their future is ascendent, so they don't have reason to reverse course.

It's troubling to them to be attacked by American politicians for short-term domestic political gain. While it is not in their interest to have America as an enemy, we run the risk of forcing that upon them. They will feel compelled to rapidly develop military strength and partner with Russia to undermine American global leadership.

While America should hold China accountable, we should be careful that we don't antagonize them to the point we create an enemy that works against our long-term interests.

The Russian subversion strategy of formenting disharmony is real and should not be overlooked. Analysis of their efforts in social media found racial strife to be their primary objective.

Their operations have expanded to other countries and are better hidden.

I thought I saw magnora7 once say dcjogger is a known bot. That was some time ago so I'm not sure now, but I'd like to know. I'm also curious about the source and intent of a bot that posts and comments so often.

If a bot is intended to act as a stimulus for discussion, perhaps to benefit the forum, then that's probably benign. If it's intention is more nefarious, well then...

The more recent username unicorn seems quite similar. I've even noticed one commenting on the other's post.

Americans have been brought to equate Socialism with Communism when they are in fact opposites.

I've noticed you making this statement previously. It's obviously incorrect. From reading your words here I can't determine your (likely) ideological point.

Regardless, socialism and communism were cojoined concepts and practices during the 20th century, during which Communist parties practiced socialism.

Socialism and communism are not opposites.

Nah, this place was legit. It's actually a legally operated bar, so you might call those speakeasy aspects a theme.

Professionally run on the inside, it had a long, well-stocked bar, full-size billiards tables, video game room — looked like a normal bar on the inside.
