Use UBlock Origin to block the ads or use Brave like me.

I just did! I just installed the latest Firefox on a Linux machine, and wanted to get an adblocker working again. uBlock Origin was highly rated on the extension download page, so I am trying it out...

This is the root of the ad blocker wars. Most people would be satisfied with a modest amount of ads, but the full blown ad push by some sites have users reaching for Brave and other ad blocking technologies.

Lol people in 2022 still not using adblock? 😂

I have used adblockers for many years, but just installed the latest version of Firefox for my Linux machine, and it did not come with an adblocker already installed. But today I installed the uBlock Origin extension and am trying it out.

Possibly the most valuable form of defense against modern internet. Most websites are unreadable otherwise with the congestion of unwanted adverts. 👍 Hope it works out for you

Yes. It is working well so far. Thank you.

Why would you ever go there? Daily Mail is cancer.

I clicked on a link here at Saidit. But yeah, let's not get cancer.

Ads are based on your previous browsing history

I had just installed the latest version of Firefox on a Linux machine, so there was no browsing history. Saidit is not crashing. Neither are most other sites I have visited since. Today, I just installed the UBlock Origin extension and am seeing how that performs at blocking the annoyances.

Weird, I read it everyday, never had a crash. I am using the Brave browser though
