The people of Worgl proved that: working together, they - their self-validating currency - were the solution.
 

More fundamentally: Top-down fiat money itself is not natural - the idea is unthinkable and abhorrent in nature.
Money is our life force - that no one has the moral right to deny anyone else access to.

 
To paraphrase your sentence:
 
They leveraged fiat money into usurping wealth and power for the wealthy, and dependence and subservience by the serfs.
Yet, multiple generations have accepted it. Will the present and future generations continue accepting it?

"Sovereigns: Work for Self & Community, Sovereigns for All"
is a call for people:

  • to cast aside the serf-titude imposed upon them, and instead
  • to assert themselves as sovereigns and in doing so,
  • to commit to, and to gain access to what represents their sovereign status - a sovereign currency
     

Effectively:
Each person who embraces the community currency signs self up to be a fellow sovereign - reclaims one's own birthright.
