Thanks for the note in the chat, neolib. This is the top news story in the UK at the moment, with videos of the asshole trying to escape cops, who finally, after a lot of running, tasered him. I kept thinking he would have been shot on sight in the US. There's a video of a cop standing only a few feet in front of the idiot, trying to reason with him, whereas it would have been easy for the idiot to slice the cop in 2. One chap was sliced near the neck, and is in hospital. A child was coming home from school when he was killed by the imbecile. Sometimes I wonder if crazy murderous assholes like this aren't worried about their actions because of a weak justice system. That's not necessarily true, but it's times like these when I think penalties for murder or more serious crimes that have many witnesses and with a lot of evidence should be much more severe.

In the US he would have had an assault rifle instead of a sword, and there'd be dozens of dead.

But, yes, including him.

Indeed

BTW: I saw a political TV ad yesterday by the 'Conservative' Party, aired after the national news (each party does this once before an election, 2 May in our case). In their alloted time the focused on ONE topic: keeping neighborhoods safe from knife crime, claiming that the've added 20,000 police since 2010 (the last Labour government). The problem is that knife crime is still very rare in the UK and we can see that the Tories have nothing else to campaign on, after Brexit and their government destroyed the economy and social services. Rather typical for the right to focus on fear mongering because they've failed at governance.
