I must be really unintelligent then. I was really happy! Not going outside. Avoiding all human contact. It was bliss

In general, and before COVID-19, more intelligent individuals have always been happier than less intelligent individuals throughout their lives, albeit not because they were more intelligent but because they earned more, were more likely to be married, and were healthier.

That doesn't ring true for me. I've always used the rule of thumb: big brain, big pain.

The problem with the study is they equate being a psychotic mask fetishist with being intelligent, the exact opposite of reality.

I've literally always heard the opposite of this study. More intelligent people have always been reported to be more depressed and unhappy than unintelligent people.

So infectious diseases – let alone epidemics and global pandemics – did not exist in the ancestral environment and are therefore entirely evolutionarily novel.

This is how I know the writer has no fucking clue what they are talking about.

I'd like to see a study on happiness for people that followed politics and vaccine news.

Who said so, is it scientifically justified?

Big surprise. The stupid took control. What do you expect?

I remember seeing a news clip on CBC about a woman at the onset of the pandemic. She was trilled that the Canadian government was going to play her $2000 a month to stay at home with money printed hot off the press.

She commented that this made such an improvement in her life and wellbeing. She could now stay at home instead of going to work and net more money this way, all while pursuing personal interests she never had time for.

I wonder how things are going for her now that gas is hovering around $2/liter ($7.40/gallon)

O Jesse I wonder why?

They had a place to focus

I was a lot happier during the pandemic so I'm going to reject this study.

The last time Lisa Simpson was right about anything was when she demonstrated an inverse relation between intelligence and happiness. It kind of makes sense: when you're the smartest person in the room, you're never among your intellectual peers.

The dummies all got nigra rich and blew all the money.
