Nice of him to hit the nail on the head, even from the wrong side, I suppose.

He's not wrong it's a 'place' issue; we live in a society, societies have values (to wish otherwise isn't wrong, it's just impossible, like asking for water without oxygen), and values inevitably means status disparity among individuals who fare better or worse at fulfilling those values.

I've been saying for years that the problem is, 'businessmen have forgotten their place'. They're not geniuses, they're not superior beings, they're bean-counters; macro-mediocrities.

It should go without saying, and it's flabbergasting that it doesn't, that the measure of a man cannot possibly be taken in dollars and cents.

You'd think it would be possible by now to develop software that obsoletizes anybody that stakes its worth on an MBA.

That's the funny thing. Marx already won. Everyone is a Marxist whether they realize or not, whether they like it or not.

The only question before each of us is, 'will I use this knowledge to maintain the status quo or to smash it?'

Deal with it.

The economic part maybe, not the "cultural" part.

The lie the right tells about cultural Marxism was literally the only thing keeping me away from reading it

Their grifting is coming to an end

Ends with "that's why I'm fighting for socialism." 🤮

Workers need, require more discipline. What a surprise! Today must be one of the days of the week, or even one of the months on the calendar!

Oh yeah. Luxury properties, come to think of it that might be the logical complement to the relative supply of affordable housing. Is there enough, not nearly enough? I don't know. I guess it doesn't matter, huh? Does this rich guy know how those things happen? Was he taught in school? It's doesn't involve either market failures or negative externalities, does it? Other things amazingly expensive for the poor and unfortunate among us?

Workers need, require more discipline. What a surprise! ... Oh yeah. Luxury properties

Did you read either the guy's comments or Johnstone's piece about it? Because that's not at all what either of them said.

Wage discipline =/= imposing discipline on workers in the course of their jobs.

Deliberately creating high unemployment and homelessness as a means of imposing wage discipline =/= imposing discipline on workers in the course of their jobs.

Homelessness =/= the lack of luxury housing.

That guy seems to have some sort of forehead prothesis. Can anyone confirm this?

That's assuming he's from this planet, but we have no evidence of that

Working on an automatic battery-powered pitchfork sharpener. Should I use gofundme?

Full tweet, because it gets worse:

Luxury property developer and CEO Tim Gurner, who owns nearly a billion dollars in wealth, says:

"Unemployment has to jump 40, 50 percent in my view. We need to see pain in the economy. We need to remind people that they work for the employer, not the other way around."

"There's been a systematic change where employees feel the employer is extremely lucky to have them, as opposed to the other way around...We've got to kill that attitude and that has to come through hurting the economy."

Gurner is thoroughly repulsive, but he's not a "bad apple." This is today's reminder as to why capitalism in a rotten system as a whole. A system in which a small elite enriches itself on the labor and suffering of the masses is inherently sociopathic. That's why I'm fighting for socialism.
