Exactly you have no consistent policies. You just do whatever, screw the users, right?

As a lead mod it’s your duty to learn about mod tools, establish practices, and explain to your hires why you do X, why Y is a bad idea.

I am astonished by the technical ignorance on this mod team.

You all have been mods for years, you should know how Ignore Reports works.

You've been a mod for how long, and you still don't understand the irrationality and inconsistency of admin actions?

[–]WandersFar[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

Of course I understand the admin is unpredictable.

That’s why you should avoid getting them involved.

Listen to your logic here: It’s not our fault, the admins did it! We hate the admins, they’re so irrational and inconsistent! That’s why we escalate reports to the admin every time we get a bad report!

… Do you see the problem now?

Do you see the problem now?

Yes, I do. You can't accept that we don't escalate "every time," or even most times, and that you're own actions in reporting a post started it all.

Earlier in this thread one of your mods said that my Spam report was fine.

And several of your mods have said that the intent was never to escalate my report to the admin. You may have even said this yourself. This thread is over 100 comments long now, I’m not going back to check.

Suffice it to say, the majority of your mods have affirmed that I haven’t done anything wrong.

you're own actions in reporting a post started it all.

So this would appear to be a contradiction, wouldn’t it?

If you don’t want your users to file reports, put that on your sidebar, a sticky announcement, somewhere. Do something to prevent your own users from getting site-wide suspended because of your own escalation policy.

So this would appear to be a contradiction, wouldn’t it?

No, it wouldn't, because if you didn't make the report, none of this would have happened. The report abuse had already been filed before you made the spam report.

And if you didn’t escalate on that item, the admin would never have noticed it.

My spam report was legitimate. Your own mods have already admitted that.

I have broken none of your rules. I have done nothing wrong.

I am being punished because of your stupid policy decisions.

Was it? Did they?

It’s in this thread, look it up yourself.

WandersFar: It’s in this thread, look it up yourself.

Also WandersFar: I am not going back through 100+ comments to find whatever imaginary point you think you’ve made.
