Government's interest in, and preparation for, narrative control pre-dates COVID. https://old.reddit.com/r/WayOfTheBern/comments/sdd34l/if_you_think_government_narrative_control_started/

The COVID "emergency" is officially over, but government's desire for narrative control never ends.

Why are they censoring jokes? They're working with an infectious disease model for dissenting thought. They limit the spread of ideas counter to their plans by judging how infectious they are and determining from that how many people can be allowed to see the material without it going viral. That way they can shadowban and otherwise censor in more discreet ways so that most people aren't aware that there is censorship all around them.

And the simple truth is that jokes are far more infectious than straight posts. That's why editorial cartoons have been a thing for centuries. People are far more inclined to share a joke or cartoon or funny video than something like this very post.

Biden is insecure and can't handle humour, which might be used against him.

It's clear that the US is working with the big tech companies to censor dissent.

Then there's tiktok which is under China and Twitter which is under Elon. Those would be the most interesting of all when compared to other major tech.
