Breaking! A desperate Macron is out of options

The wild dogs cry out in the night

As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company

I know that I must do what's right

As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti

I seek to cure what's deep inside

Frightened of this thing that I've become

Niger was under the thumb of the US

There was that old gaffe from Trump about the dead American soldier in Niger...

It was mild. I thought for sure he said N*****

Maybe, maybe not. Africa is huge; Niger is more than twice as big as France. France's Storm Shadow missiles don't have the range. MdCN does have the range to reach the capital but not a lot have been manufactured.

As for the US, a couple of MQ-9 reaper squadrons are deployed there. They could make a difference, but, their position is extremely vulnerable.

Get a load of this...

Niger has suspended the export of gold and uranium to France. The uranium ore is mainly used for electricity in France, yet only 18% of Niger's citizens have access to electricity. Under the previous regime, France owned ~70% of all the uranium mines in the country

So... Who is worse... France or Russia?

Just as an aside - on that tweet, you have to click "view" to see the image because "it contains sensitive content". I was naturally curious - dead bodies? sex parts? dead sex parts? Nope, just a man (I'm assuming the Nigerian leader) in a uniform sitting at his desk. I sure am glad they warned me so I could prepare for that shocking photo!

If you pronounce "Putin" in French the way it's spelled, it sounds like putain, which means "whore". Poutine is closer to how Putin is pronounced in Russian.

Which is why I always spell it Putin when writing in french, because the well-to-do TV bullshit respewers find it "oh so vulgar!!1!" but can't complain because it would be like protesting that somebody called Putin a whore, and that doesn't compute.

Also, I hate poutine. May that shit forever remain in Canada.

“We couldn’t expect a coup in Niger because there’s no social, political or security situation that would justify that the military take the power,” Prof. Amad Hassane Boubacar, who teaches at the University of Niamey, told The Associated Press.

Mmh, let me hazard a few guesses that may give a couple of reasons:

Niger, a French colony until 1960

France has 1,500 soldiers in the country

Nigeriens, who live in the third-poorest country in the world

French President Emmanuel Macron said Sunday that attacks on France and its interests would not be tolerated. Anyone who attacked French nationals, the army, diplomats and French authorities would see an immediate response, he said.

    Lol, you and what army?

I think African nations have reached the point where they can no longer tolerate even the presence of their former colonizers, witness what happened in Mali, and their confidence in asserting their independence is increasing with the rise of BRICS and similar global collaborations.

I long for the day when we feel the same way about the British. Soon.

We should've banned those scummy redcoat bastards when they gaslit us into WW1.
