So to make the video more clear, it's "only" the bullshit from a couple of days ago where Macaroni blamed video games for 'intoxicating' the kids who are causing trouble now.

He's not talking, at least not in that video, about 'shutting down social media'. He says that the government will be asking social media platforms to take down content that the government deems to be threatening violence (or to be trying to organize actions that the government would qualify as potentially violent) and will be asking those same social platforms to give them the identities of the users.

To note, they've already done that some time ago with Rumble, demanding them to give them the personal contact info of users they deemed 'problematic'. To which Rumble told them to go fuck themselves and has been blocking access from french IPs ever since. (still works great with a vpn, obviously)

So this video right there is nothing.

The guy in this tweet, who's tweet-quoting the video, is making it way more dramatic than it is. The entire first paragraph is pulled right out of his ass.

This is Macaroni being his usual authoritarian cunt, trying to force whatever he wants down the throats of anybody who disagrees. Emphasis on trying. For now.

How the various social media platforms will respond to his demands remains to be seen.

Makes sense. Thanks for the clarification and sorry for all the fuss!
