"I'm a fox!"

That's nice.

"I'm wearing my fox mask to the restaurant!"

No you aren't.

"But it's my identity!"

Foxes aren't allowed in restaurants. So you aren't coming.

"Where are my leftovers!"

Foxes forage for food in the forest and don't eat human food. I think we still have some garbage we've not thrown out and there are some mice in the basement if you are hungry.

Yep.

One of the most important rules of classroom management, children need, and in fact crave, boundaries. If you keep relenting the child will keep pushing, they can’t help it, that’s what they’re programmed to do.

Former classroom teacher here (of older kids): Yes, too much freedom is actually bad for kids. It makes them anxious. They want guidance, not all this bullshit about being whatever they want to be.
