“A study which purported to show a ‘lifetime suicidal ideation’ reduction in those who received puberty blockers actually found twice as many serious suicidal attempts in participants who received the blockers than those who just wished they had received them,”
That's a really significant finding because it doesn't just undercut their main propaganda but blows it away.
The American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) on Wednesday issued its position statement opposing the use of so-called “gender-affirming” medications, such as puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, social transition, and surgery for youth who have a gender identity not congruent with their sex.
Also significant here is they even go against the social transition which is the main thing they put forward as completely harmless and as the main way they stick their foot in the door.

I'd suspect that long term it would increase suicidality in most cases. Because I suspect that in most cases the people don't really have what we've classically understood to be "gender disphoria" but rather have simply a belief that being the other sex would make them happy.
So someone with what we understood was gender disphoria would have had to go through very extensive vetting including living as the opposite sex before they'd be allowed any sort of medical transition in the past because there was I think a very legitimate concern that most people would not be benefited from any sort of transition and it would make their lives worse. And I think that's what we'll see now that gender transitions are rubber stamp approved for most anyone it seems.
What I suspect, is that you'll have a case where someone has some kind of underlying chronic depression and develops an idea that if they were only the opposite sex then it will somehow fix their problems, and I suspect you'll have a short period where upon starting their transition the suicide rates will indeed drop as they have a hope their life will get better with the transition, however I suspect that as the transition progresses and their underlying issues with depression don't go away and in top of that new complications from the transition as well as the simple fact that a transition is at best a cosmetic change and ones sex remains the same becomes impossible to ignore, if will result in a higher rate of suicidality once they realize that it's not a cure all for their depression problems.

This is what happened to a friend and classmate of mine who transitioned FtM in the 1990s, and that was back when they actually still carefully vetted people. "He" didn't try to foist any of the gender ideology stuff on us. He just told friends that he was changing his name. Fast-forward 20 years, and his(her) body developed bad reactions to testosterone, so he had to stop it. He told me that he thought transition had been a mistake and that he was still dealing with the same issues he had before. But he was known academically as a trans-male and knew he would be hated if he detransitioned, so he ended up committing suicide.
