I don't doubt the veracity of this claim, but I wish they had been able to get videos of people's reactions. It's too easy today to just post something online; I imagine any response to this from the other side would be something along the lines of, "this person wasn't even there" or "this person was there but didn't say a word to anyone."

Anyways, I feel like we're going to see a lot more of this sort of thing in the coming years. I imagine that the next crop of teens will see "detransitioner" as the cool thing to claim to be. Which will also be annoying but more of a standard teenager annoying than an actively harmful teenage annoying.

Nah, given the current reactions, I think that "joining Hamas" is the next wave of teenage attempts at rebellion: It's anti-government in both sides of the coin [they love], it's pro black BIPOCs who never did nothing wrong to anyone AND you get to hate Jews like the Nazis do so you get the best of both political sides, it goes well with school shootings [you can do it and look like the hero striking a blow instead of a lovelorn person, because lovelorn people are losers and losers are the only thing teens cannot be], it's the one thing that will make Mommy and Daddy hurt for not buying you a pony when you were 8...it really fits the teenagers' need to rebel.
