It's funny but typical of these sorts of people. I used to argue with librarians during "banned book week" that the real banned books are the ones they don't have in their library and not the ones they are promoting for people to read.

Sure I'm not going to be advocating that books like "How to kill Jews" be promoted at the library but I always found it hilarious that shit like Mein Kampf, one of the most banned books of the 20th century (like actually illegal to buy in many European countries) was suspiciously absent from these banned books lists because "oh that's a bad book". Sure but it's a historically significant "bad book". What's that saying. Those who don't learn their history are doomed to repeat it?

The books that the Germans burned were the trans and pedo filth. Material that parents are objecting to in school board meetings.

Now the librarians are pushing these books everywhere

Yeah and since they burned them we today have a much harder time pulling them up and saying "look at the shit these people thought".

Guys telling you a book is horrible then giving you the book to see for yourself is far more trustworthy than the guy telling you to burn the book because the very idea will infect you so definitely don't read it, how do we know he is telling the truth?

I've read Mein Kampf. I've confirmed it's a bunch of gibberish written by a lunatic.

How is hidding books and views helping people see that they're harmful or idiotic?

We can ban your books when we refuse to call them books.

and this will IMMEDIATELY run into that little issue of Israel, just like the "everyone is either Hitler or Chamberlain or some halitotic neocon" crowd tripped up when they saw "a WWII veteran of the fight against Russia" and promptly decided to give a minute-long standing ovation to someone who remembered the Eastern Front as the happiest time of his life (was that only four weeks ago? how the time does fly)

it's almost funny how "SJWism" is really just a complete grab bag of every noisy activist that broke into the admin building on campus one day and had to be appeased: that's probably why they go after Rowling so hard since her premises ("yes all men!" "if anyone was mean to people who looked like you, you can go on a rampage against anyone even if they had nothing to do with it and were a quarter of the planet away") are ALMOST what they get people fired for disagreeing

I remember 2021 how overjoyed they were at the Dr Seuss censoring--"now you stupid Tucker-watching chuds can't make your kids racist!"; heck, I remember when "get the groomers" was a leftie slogan
