It's a combination of natural instinct and the culture wars. Women aren't judged anywhere near as harshly for a lot of things. They used to be judged more harshly for different things, but we've mostly cleared that up in modern post-feminist society. Although TRAs and some "natural law" folks are reviving sexism.
