I'm not deluded. It's body modding. They need to put more focus on improving the treatments and less on "pride" and "identity".

There's only so much they can accomplish with surgery, which is inherently crude. The only way to really change gender would be to grow a new body with a way to transfer the brain or consciousness and even then, it'd still be a man's brain. That, even if possible at all, is so beyond our current tech as to be science fiction.

Even if we did live in a highly advanced society where brain transfers were possible, the process of putting anyone's brain in another body would likely drive the recipient insane.

You think because of a "wiring" issue or just seeing/experiencing one's self in a different body? I know some people have great difficulty when they experience visual static or persistent hallucinations from psychedelics, but the sort of person who are able to handle things like that without issue probably would be better candidates for changing their body.

Exactly. Even with this alone my life is irreversibly ruined. Add to that complete lack of talent in any areas of interest and I'm hopelessly doomed.

When you know you're going to fail it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Things can always be worse. I think you should consider doing something drastic like living on the streets for a couple months so you can appreciate what you have.

Stop trying to justify it. The fact that things could be even worse should not be a comforting thought.

If you experience how things can be worse you can start to appreciate everything you do have.

I have every right to be resentful for my misgivings. That doesn't mean I can't recognize that they could be worse. I'm sick of being told that I have to be happy all the time and being forced to neglect my emotional needs so the cult of toxic positivity doesn't crucify me for daring to speak up about them. Evil is 99% of this world, and you're not even allowed to admit that evil exists! That's so...evil!
