I think there are people who interpret indifference as bigotry, the kinds of people who probably dream of being hate crimed because of all the attention and support it would draw.

This exactly. They too want to be celebrated and elevated because they claim they aren’t attracted to anyone and have zero desire to have sex. But one look at what Miss Benoit decided to wear to the pride event, leads me to call bull fucking shit. But that’s beside the point anyway. Asexuals are not oppressed and us not caring about their lack of sex life does not equate to bigotry.

People like Benoit absolutely want someone to say or do something to make them feel validated in their runaway victim hood complex.
