While the story itself is okay--someone who thinks that's he Odin and might not entirely be wrong in that is trying to remake the world and purge it of weakness, while others try to stop him--the real fun bits are the background news reports sprinkled throughout the story. These should be unpleasantly familiar to anyone who regularly frequents this sub. And keep in mind that this book was written in 1999...
