Not to excuse his behavior, but it might well be that he can't. It's pretty well established that paraphilics and addicts have to escalate to get the same rush that less risky behaviors previously provided. He's probably hitting the point in his paraphilia where he needs to take the risk being caught, because the rush of success at that moment (even if he's busted for it later) is the only way to get his fix.

The insidious thing is that he, along with an awful lot of people, have worked diligently over the last five decades to convince everyone that paraphilia are “normal” and should be “accepted”(with variable rates of success, but for a moment in the 1970s and 1980s they almost got the paedos a pass). So even if he recognised his paraphilia was escalating, his philosophical beliefs are that they should just be accepted and there was nothing to cure, and any attempt to mitigate or divert him would be considered conversion therapy.

The sex-positivity movement really fucked up when they pushed the anti-kinkshaming shit, the freaks saw an opening and headed straight through it and this is the result. Again, I think I’ve said it here before, shame evolved over millennia and people dismantled it in fifty years without thinking that maybe it served a useful purpose.

This gross fucking clown stole a woman’s unique fashion line and went out to get photographed wearing one of a kind clothing. She recognized her fashion, and reported it. I can’t even imagine how violating that was for her. This sick fucking joke of a man getting praised for how “brave” he is for dressing like a complete asshole in some woman’s stolen clothes.
