The thing is though that he is a white guy in Korea and could probably get tons of acting work as a "foreigner" in any movie or commercial, etc...

His plastic surgery probably didn't even accomplish what he wanted. It ends up creating an uncanny valley situation where he just looks weird and actually ends up looking gross to the target audience.

You'd think that, but even with foreigners, even independent of that, Korea still wants perfection. I know- when I worked in Korea, I replaced the teacher at my school solely because I was white, she was Asian, and the parents wanted to see white faces at the school- and when I was replaced, it was solely because I had psoriasis and wasn't pretty enough to be that white face.
