Competing doesn't matter? Cool, you can play with the men then.

I love how the vast majority of the clowns arguing these points look exactly how you imagine. The people with big “picked last for team sports” energy. They never played a competitive sport a day in their lives and have zero room to have an opinion on the topic.

Not played with the opposite gender either.

I remember a day in PE when I was young, we were just messing around playing basketball with friends for fun. Super casual no one taking it seriously. One of our male friends nudged me like he would one of the men and I went flying across the room. He was super apologetic! Def shows that there's a huge gulf at a certain point though.

More than that, this is absolutely WHY they argue these points. They're the people bitter they were picked last for team sports and so they demand to make professional sports the same "you get a participation trophy just for playing in the league" experience to the pros.

Make no mistake, this would be their first goal, the endgame would be "...it's mean I don't get to be Lebron James; therefore we need to force the Lakers to sign every Lakers fan in the world and let them play minutes in games, and let them be world-famous like Lebron is."

And why should mens leagues provide financial support to womens leagues?

Yeah sperate the sexes completly in sports and that should include womens sports leaching funds from mens sports...Your strong independent women...raise your own funds...

I think it's incredibly stupid. But I also don't really care. I'd probably care more if I was a professional sports player.

The women are like "it's unfair we cant make as much money as the men's team".

And you know, I'm inclined to agree. It is unfair. So? Life is unfair. We could go and argue it's unfair to take the men's money to pay your equal salary as well. But it is the leagues perrogative to decide how they want to pay their players.

The women are like "it's unfair we cant make as much money as the men's team".

This reminds me of the issue with the US women's soccer team whining about their pay. Turns out that there was a veritable mountain of documentation showing that they not only refused the same pay scheme that the men's team was getting, but that the pay scheme they were getting was (alongside the benefits that only they were getting) was actually more lucrative than what the men were getting.

The only actual benefit that the men were getting--and that women wanted on top of everything else they already received--was, IIRC, some sort of performance or appearance bonus.

Hold up, what.

The left's response to women's sports being co-opted is hilarious. It's like a self-parody.

"Who cares about sports anyway? Competition is dumb. Sports should only exist to validate someone's identity, and if they hurt or take opportunities from actual athletes, it's funny."

I have a modicum more respect for the people arguing along those lines than the ones just going "Well they haven't broken any rules have they? If da rulez allow it, what's the issue?". The first group are just morons, there's not much helping that. The second are spineless, who know it's wrong, but are leaning on established rulings to not have to speak up

I've been called all sorts of names by them for being a woman that did sports and wants girls to have that same opportunity. Wild to be accused of not caring about a sport that I did for over a decade. Considering mine is a contact sport I have very good reasons for not wanting men to compete.

Even Training with them as a teen there was just a huge difference. Imagine getting thrown around by a teen boy who is shocked because he didn't realise it'd be that easy. Don't have anything against it, it can be valuable practise but as soon as it's an actual competition women will have very little chance against someone with the same level of ability.

This of course is obvious to anyone who has ever physically used their body, which makes it even funnier when some terminally online pizzagoblin who gets a coronary going up stairs goes "there's literally no difference!"
