IIRC, Isn't the place in this game where Bridget becomes a trans girl the bad ending of his mode where he gets kidnapped and tortured into use as a sex slave? So, it actually makes MORE sense as masturbatory fantasy.

Supposedly, the creator confirmed Bridget being trans in one of the Dev Backyards but I’m skeptical since it was translated from Japanese to English and English “localizers” in Japanese media are infamous for intentionally botching translations.

Oh lawdy, these motherfuckers :D. I pass a lot time by reading, and I have pretty broad tastes which occasionally leads me to light novels, most of which are--naturally enough, since I'm an uncultured round-eye barbarian who doesn't know moon speak--translated into English. And that in turn exposes me to the sort of drama that translator communities can get up to (I try to avoid it, but sometimes it just splashes far enough to reach casuals like myself).

It reminds me of the overblown "artist" egos and fandom bitchslapping sessions that Tumblr used to play host to, back before it became a wasteland following the porn and freak exoduses.

Most of the drama I've seen is very exaggerated. Usually it's some weeb armed with google translate and a poor command of both English and Japanese throwing a tantrum that google spat out something which they've then edited to seem like it's saying something different than the localization.

It's just so incredibly stupid. It's always something like "The original Japanese says "I love you!" But the localization says "Omg! You're the best!" They censored the romantic overtones!"

And I'm all like, dude, the original Japanese doesn't say "I love you." That's English. In guessing the original says 大好き!!!or something like that which could potentially go either way depending on the context. But these arguments online are always retarded because there's maybe one or two people who actually know Japanese getting downvoted to hell by the hoards of horny weebs that want to see a conspiracy to oppress their hobby. Essentially it's their way to get oppression points.

Like I said, classic Tumblr material.

I got a reddit ban once for responding to one of these localization rants with a simple.

"Settings>Language>Japanese"

I guess that means I did an ablism. Bur hey apply half that time you use ranting about the translation to actually studying and see where you get.

Weebs are just fucking retarded. There's always a bunch that move to Japan (somehow) and start whining about how there's no English manga or Anime subs.
