She even referred to her own body in the third person. These people really believe they're a homunculus piloting a meat suit.

I mean if I'm playing a video game or RPG I might build a rediculously stupid character just to make it hard. Like an idiot Wizard with no intelligence or a physically handicapped berserker with zero strength.
Playing the game of romance as a gay trans man seems similar. Gotta lay on as many handicaps as you can to make the game harder.

Some of these girls do say that larping as gay men was a way of avoiding intimacy after they detransion.
Generally girls transion because they want to be sexualised less and boys because they want to be the object of desire.

I've definitely noticed a trend of women who have been subjected to unwanted sexual attention presenting in a more boyish manner.
I've never understood the extreme aversion to sexual attention though I suppose that's the result of trauma more than anything.

Sexual attention is often dangerous for women and especially for girls.

I was a tomboy during puberty specifically because I was not taught the concept of consent; my mom had borrowed library books about puberty and let me read them on my own. The books did not discuss consent, just purely biological "Penis goes in Vagina where Sperm meets Egg. Sperm + Egg + 9 Months = Baby! Everytime!"
Even from the age of 8 I was seeing bumper stickers that said "It's a baby, not a choice! 😀" so as a 9-year-old going through puberty, I sincerely believed a man could make the choice to put a baby in me, and I would have no say in the matter.
So I started wearing my dad's clothes.

I wonder if that goes along with a general aversion to the idea of pregnancy or simply a desire to have ones own agency in the matter? Back in college a lot of the "let's talk about consent all the time" types were also very much "I never wanna have kids ever but the doctors won't let me get a hysterectomy because I might change my mind in 10 years what about my rights" and if I'm being very honest about it it seems kinda similar to what is happening now, except with the addition of them identifying as men and actually being able to get the hysterectomy in some cases.
The consent crusaders always seemed a bit off to me as well, we used to make fun of them quote a bit "Did you know that consent is important." "Oh shit you mean rape is bad? What? Nobody told me that before! I better call my friend right now! Hey man look did you know rape is bad! Yeah I know right holy shit! Who would have guessed! Remember to brush your teeth, look both ways when crossing the street and not to rape anyone today!".
It just seemed all a bit, what's the word, oblivious? Autistic? Perhaps a social contagion in and of itself? Then again lots of people I knew were borderline radfems so they were kinda loopy. It's like, rape is a problem, mostly everyone in human society bar very few exceptions has thought that I think. Doesn't mean it still doesn't happen. But this was the era of "Help help a man complimented my hair rape!" Types.
