How about instead of cutting down on anesthesia across the board, we totally remove anesthesia for all of the needless surgeries we do? You know, the types of surgeries that involve cutting off, relocating, or deforming otherwise perfectly healthy body parts. It just so happens that the people who get those surgeries tout themselves as extraordinarily progressive, so they should be perfectly happy to forego anesthesia for the sake of the climate.
