I think the reason why she's so upset about this is frankly, I doubt she was "actually" bi. Or whatever that would even mean. She probably experimented in college and did all the LGBTQIA pride parades and whatever and made that her identity, instead of something more practical that she could take with her into later stages of her life like, an art, or a sport, or some other hobby.

So now that she has kids and is well into that lifestyle she's mad because she is seen as "just another housewife" like it's a bad thing but regardless it's the life she chose. Like please, you're complaining about living a normal life. That's literally the whole point of LGBTQ acceptance isn't it? Or what the point is supposed to be, nobody gives a shit about you and let's you live your life normally with your partner of choice right? Or would you prefer that random people on the playground run around throwing slurs at you so you can feel oppressed and relive your college activist fantasies again? I think the answer to that is yes. And that's stupid.

Yes, but it's not the point of Queer Theory. By replicating cisheteronormative ways of living, she's enacting oppression against other Queer bodies. She's now an Oppressor, she knows it, all her Queer friends know it, and she's desperate for attention redemption.

True it does seem like Queer theory is taking the literal meaning of the word as "abnormal" and is therefore taking a very "anti-normal" stance. As such I don't see the theory being very useful other than a continual disruption of the status quo whatever that becomes.

I would say the self preservation instinct is perhaps the most normal one can get and therefore to be truly "queer" one must transgress that self preservation instinct themselves. Though such an observation will get you banned from the internet in most places. I feel like that mechanism is at least somewhat responsible for the higher rates of suicide even if it's not outrightly admitted.
