I should have thought the internet would have alerted most young people by this point that, of there's some insane stupid idea, there's someone somewhere who legit thinks it's a good idea.

Unfortunately, rather than being warned, they seem to take the knowledge as suggestions of things that they can do/follow/believe in to be one of the cool kids.

And it is my great misfortune that I know exactly what sounding is. Serious moment here folks, but when someone warns you not to look something up? Yeah, don't take that as a challenge and go looking anyway. Because sometimes you wind up learning things you would have happily done without. (I'm the dumbass that would have ended up as a pillar of salt...)
