Translation: 53% are straight and a solid 40% of the rest are performing some heavy mental gymnastics to pretend like they're anything but straight

Well look at the shit they try and sell people on. "oh I'm not straight I'm demisexual that means I only want to fuck people after getting to know them" That was called normal in my day. Not an identity. Genuinely wouldn't surprise me if people didn't see themselves as straight for reasons like that lol.

Yeah, it’s funny they made not being a promiscuous a sexuality. All those years where people tried to promote abstinence and all they had to do was slap a pride flag on it and say it made you speeshul.

That really is the problem - a society overfilling with "sex sells", swipe apps, one-night-stands/friends-with-benefits/hookups, "normalization" of fetishes, etc., has made "sexually promiscuous" the norm and "prude" a dirty word/insult. So anyone who's "prudish" now needs to call themselves "demisexual" and cares about it (which in woke spaces matters), which benefits them in 2 ways: 1, it gets them into the acronym soup, and 2. it renames "prude" into something that's socially acceptable.

It would be absurdist comedy if it wasn't reality.
